Admissions Process -

-Students must be 18 years of age or older to attend class, have graduated high school or obtained their GED.

-An application must be submitted to the school with a non-refundable 100$ application fee. You may apply and pay online here.

-A formal entrance interview will be conducted once the complete application is received, either in person, by FaceTime or Zoom with the school Principal and an instructor. Upon final acceptance, the application fee will serve to hold the student's place in the class until registration during the first week of their program.

- To assure quality of instruction, a maximum of 12 students are accepted for each program start date.

Tuition and Fees -

-The Hana Lima Scholarship available through AluLike.org for those of Native Hawaiian descent may provide tuition funds upon application. You can find additional information on their process here.

- Application fee (non-refundable) $100.

-Our tuition for the 4-month intensive program, including GET tax of 4.16% is $12,495.

- A $500 non-refundable deposit is due 1 month prior to the program start date, which is applied to your tuition at registration on the first day of class.

Making Massage School Financially Possible

Choosing massage school is both a professional decision and a financial one.

At Maui Academy of Healing Arts, we want students to understand the cost of their education before they enroll and to have realistic options for making that investment manageable.

Total tuition for the January 2027 Professional Massage Therapy Program is:

$12,495 ($11,995 tuition plus the approximate 4.2% state GET)

A $100 non-refundable application fee is due when you submit your application.

Once accepted, a $500 enrollment deposit reserves your place in the cohort. The enrollment deposit is applied directly toward tuition, leaving a remaining tuition balance of $11,995.

Payment plans are available for students who prefer to divide the remaining tuition into installments rather than pay the full balance at once.

What Your Tuition Includes

We have tried to include the materials and services students will use throughout the program while avoiding unnecessary costs.

Your tuition includes:

Massage lubricants used during training
Massage lubricant holster
MAHA MBLEx preparation materials
CPR certification
Student liability insurance
Use of massage tables during classes and practical training

Students are responsible for purchasing their required textbooks and providing their own linens. These items will cost the student approximately $400-500 , but remain the students' property following the program.

Massage tables are available for student use throughout the program but are not included as personal equipment students take home at graduation. We would rather keep tuition focused on your education than increase program costs by purchasing and shipping tables to Hawaiʻi.

Tuition Payment Options

Some students prefer to pay tuition in full. Others need to spread tuition across several payments.

MAHA offers installment plans to accepted students so that the full tuition balance does not have to be paid at one time.

Your $500 enrollment deposit is credited toward tuition. The remaining balance can then be divided according to the payment plan selected.

Students receiving a scholarship may also use a tuition payment plan for their remaining balance.

MAHA Maui Community Scholarship

MAHA is committed to educating massage therapists who will become part of Maui's professional and wellness communities.

The MAHA Maui Community Scholarship is available to Maui residents who demonstrate financial need, readiness to complete professional massage therapy education, and a meaningful commitment to contributing to the Maui community.

For the January 2027 cohort, each scholarship award is:

$3,000 Toward Tuition

For a scholarship recipient, the $3,000 award reduces the $11,995 tuition to $8,995. The $500 enrollment deposit continues to apply toward the student's tuition balance.

Scholarship availability is limited, and receiving an offer of admission to MAHA does not automatically guarantee a scholarship award.

Who Should Apply?

We encourage Maui residents to apply when receiving the scholarship would make a meaningful difference in their ability to attend massage school.

We are not looking for the person with the most polished essay or the perfect career plan.

We are looking for students who have thought seriously about entering massage therapy, are prepared to do the work required to complete an intensive program, and can see themselves using their education as part of the Maui community.

Scholarship applicants will be considered based on financial need, their reasons for pursuing massage therapy, their connection and commitment to Maui, and their readiness to successfully complete the program.

Maintaining Your Scholarship

Receiving the scholarship also comes with a commitment to your education and to the MAHA community. Scholarship recipients are expected to maintain required attendance, remain in satisfactory academic and practical standing, meet MAHA's professional conduct expectations, remain current with their remaining tuition payments, and continue making good-faith progress toward graduation.

Scholarship recipients will participate in two MAHA Community Engagement events during the cohort.

Learning Through Community

We believe massage education should include learning how our profession can serve the community around us.

During the January cohort, MAHA will sponsor three community wellness or outreach events where students can participate in supervised community engagement.

All MAHA students will participate in at least one Community Engagement event as part of the program.

Students receiving the Maui Community Scholarship will participate in one additional event, for a total of two.

These events are not intended as repayment for receiving a scholarship. They are part of MAHA's larger commitment to helping students understand the role massage therapists can play within the communities where they live and work.

Massage therapy can lead in many directions. You may begin in a Maui resort or spa, a wellness practice, or another professional setting. Over time, your interests may lead you toward clinical massage, private practice, specialized continuing education, management, teaching, or something you have not discovered yet.

That is one reason MAHA approaches tuition as an investment in your professional foundation rather than simply the cost of completing a required number of school hours.
